game news Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: The multiplayer beta is already an issue before its release!
It’s hard not to hear about it in recent days, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reboot is in the heart of video game news with a multiplayer beta that just completed its first phase. But a few hours after the release of the second version, the multiplayer beta seems to be a little too late for some players.
MW2 Beta continues
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was originally released in November 2009, and it seems like a good time for a fresh start and comeback with a reboot version. Something to please the biggest fans of the popular first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, especially since a multiplayer beta unlocked Hostilities on PlayStation last weekend.
After a first stage dedicated exclusively to players who draw their weapons on PS5 and PS4, The beta runs on Xbox and PC starting September 22nd, in other words tonight at 7PM.. Available only in early access for those who pre-order the game, the beta will benefit from open access for all players from September 24 (and until September 22 for PlayStation players) until Monday, September 26, at precisely 7 p.m.
But at the dawn of this second phase kick-off, some players seem to be having some trouble downloading the beta beforehand, especially on PC.
pre-download my mood
Just take a look at the discussion forums on Steam or Battle.net to read that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta pre-download doesn’t seem to work for everyone. In fact, Some players are complaining about not being able to pre-download it to their PC, with the demo version not showing up in their game library, even though it was pre-ordered.
I pre-ordered the MW2 game but I still can’t download the trial version.
I pre-purchased MW2 last night so I can download the trial version. It doesn’t show up as one of my games in the Battle.net player so I can’t pre-load the trial.
The game is not showing up in my library even though it says I own it on the store page.
Whether on Steam or the Battle.net platform, there have been many similar messages circulating in discussion forums over the past couple of days, as well as accident tickets sent to Help Support that don’t really seem to solve the problem. .
Other players try to defend themselves and offer a range of possible solutions: Restart or even uninstall/reinstall the Steam or Battle.net application, add the game to your favorites list, download from the store page… some find their happiness there, others don’t … there is no magic bullet anyway, knowing that Activision Blizzard has yet to express itself in question.
Reminder, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases October 28 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
