Lord of the Rings: Peter Jackson removed from Amazon’s Rings of Power series?

News culture Lord of the Rings: Peter Jackson removed from Amazon’s Rings of Power series?

JRR Tolkien fans will soon be delighted to return to Middle-earth with the Rings of Power series. This new show should tell us what’s happening in Age Two, long before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Peter Jackson, to whom we owe the adaptation of these two stories to the cinema, did not participate in this series despite his motivation. A decision made by Amazon depends on the person concerned.

Middle-earth returns to our screens

next to Dragon HouseThe episodic game of thrones, The Rings of Power series is without a doubt one of the most anticipated shows of this year. The Amazon-produced show showcases massive ambitions at the dawn of its release within a month.

Based on the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, The program should depict the events during the Second Age, when Sauron was about to invade Middle-earth, his ring of power.

The Chorus series, Episodes of Power will feature many of the characters known to fans of the British author and should also bring back many of the heads that have already appeared in previous Peter Jackson adaptations.. As for the participation of the director himself in this project, we already know that he is not involved in the production of the series. However, this decision was independent of his will according to him.

“Ignore” Peter Jackson by Amazon

Given the success of Peter Jackson’s films, it’s easy to imagine that Amazon would have taken his participation in the series into account. The New Zealand director was also invited by the company, as was screenwriter Fran Walsh, who co-signed scripts for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy, before production fell back. It was Peter Jackson himself who explained the situation in the latest Hollywood Reporter podcast.

I said: “It is impossible for me to answer before I see the slightest text” (…)

However, after confirming receipt of the first texts, Peter Jackson adds that they “Never arrived.”

That’s the last thing I heard, but that’s fine. I don’t have a problem with that.

Therefore, Peter Jackson could have simply been excluded from the series by Amazon, without any real explanation. An anecdote the company can dispense with when approaching its production version. Amazon also wanted to comment on the director’s remarks in order to set the record straight.

By acquiring the rights to the series, we had to keep the program separate from the movies. We have the utmost respect for the Peter Jackson and Lord of the Rings films, and we’re thrilled that he’s looking forward to watching The Rings of Power.

As a reminder, the first episodes of the Rings of Power series will air from September 2nd on Amazon Prime Video.
