Google has announced that the Pixel 6’s “blur” feature, which changes the color of an element in an image, is also coming to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
With the Pixel 6a, Google has introduced a new editing feature for its Google Photos app. A mid-range smartphone from the manufacturer allows you to adjust the colorimetric and tint of an element in the background of an image. A way to make this element less visible and, conversely, to better highlight the subject.
However, this feature is currently only present on the Google Pixel 6a, as a feature “magic eraser”. Now in addition to the option ” wipe off“Magic eraser embeds an option”camouflageSo the idea is to modify the colors of the image element in order to better blend it into the background. It will then take the color of the elements around it in order to better direct the gaze towards the real subject of the image.
This feature is well known to photographers who may already be using more advanced editing tools like Photoshop or Lightroom to change the hue of an object to make it less visible. However, the Google Photos feature, like the magic eraser, is easy to use. All you have to do is surround the element whose color you want to modify and the changes will be applied directly.
Post arrives this week on other smartphones
If the Pixel 6a is currently the only smartphone entitled to take advantage of this blur feature, Google nonetheless intends to expand it to more smartphones. In response to a question from the American sitethe edgeGoogle indicated that its two previous smartphones, Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro, will be able to take advantage of this camouflaging feature starting Thursday, July 28. As a reminder, also on this date, the Pixel 6a will be commercially available, along with the company’s new headphones, the Pixel Buds Pro.
This magic blur and eraser function is integrated directly into the Google Photos app, which is available on all Android smartphones, and we hope to be extended in the coming months to more smartphones. Google offers some additional features to users who subscribe to its Google One offer.
In addition to extended storage, a subscription allows you to take advantage of “Portrait Lighting” And the “blur backgroundSince these are two editing modes, which until now were only intended for Pixel smartphones, we can then hope that the magic eraser and blur function will end on all Android smartphones.
