The former President of the United States has been targeted since 2019 along with two of his sons – Ivanka and Donald Jr. – by a civil investigation by Letitia James, the highest judge in New York state.
Mrs. James and her team listened to him in Manhattan from 1:00 p.m. GMT to 7:00 p.m. GMT, but announced in a press release at the start of the hearing that he had invoked the famous Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution allowing any opponent not to testify against yourself.
The judge, an elected Democrat, confirmed this in a brief statement after meeting face-to-face with the Republican billionaire and assured that she would “follow the facts (and application of) the law, wherever that leads.”

As soon as he entered Mrs. James’ office, he mocked her “lavish, gorgeous, expensive (…), beautiful working conditions while killing people in New York, and she dedicates her time and efforts to trying to ‘capture Trump'”.
